Sewer / Water / Refuse

Statements will include water/sewer/refuse service. The statement will be mailed every other month. For your convenience there is a "drop box" in the door at the Village. Make sure to include your bill and check in a sealed envelope.

What is the difference between amount due and gross bill?
 
Amount due is the amount that is due on or before the due date. Gross bill is the amount due after the due date.

Recycling:
Residents are provided a 64 gallon container by Water Management. If your tote is missing or damaged, contact the Village Hall at 815-478-3483. One bin may be picked up at Village Hall free of charge; an additional bin may be purchased for $7.00. Place the recycling bin at the curb. Recycling is collected on the same day as refuse, but at different times

Refuse Information:
Residents are provided a 96 gallon container by Waste Management. If your container is missing or damages, contact the Village Hall at 815-478-3483. Additional garbage may be placed in 32 gallon cans that are less than 50 pounds in weight. Garbage cans no greater than 32 gallon size may be used.   Pick up day is MONDAY.   Container(s) must be placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m. or the night before the day of collection.

Items that are not included as garbage are earth, dirt, sod, stone, concrete, and refuse from construction/demolition activity.   Call Customer Service Dept. with pricing options ( (800) 796-9696.

Large Items:
One large household item such as discarded furniture, mattresses, chairs, etc. will be collected on the regular pick-up day.   Carpeting/padding should be cut and rolled in 4 foot lengths weighing no more than 50 lbs. each.   Additional oversized items may require a special pick-up.   Contact Customer Service Dept. for an estimate.   Waste Management can provide 6, 20, and 30 cubic yards containers.

White Goods/Tires:
Household appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, stoves, dryers, air conditioners, dishwashers, heat pumps, water heaters, furnaces and boilers have been banned from landfills.   Automotive tires have also been banned.   To dispose to these items, please contact a local appliance business for recycling or collection information or call Customer Service Dept. for collection and payment arrangements.   The charges are $25.00 for up to two white goods, then $10.00 per item thereafter.   Tires will be charged at $8.00 for each tire, or $10.00 with the rim.

Hazardous Waste:
Toxic products such as automotive batteries, oil base paints, insecticides, oil, anti-freeze, etc. can't be collected through your residential pickup.   For tips on where to dispose of these, contact the Will County Waste Service Division at ( (815) 727-8834.   Syringes used for home medical purposes may only be disposed of in rigid plastic containers.   "Sharps" containers designed for syringe disposal can be obtained through your local pharmacy.

Recycling/Refuse Holiday Schedule:
Waste Management observes only the following holidays. When pickup falls on one of the holiday garbage will be picked up the next day that week. New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.  

Yard Waste:
Yard Waste begins April 1 st - November 30 th each year.   Yard waste must be placed in either a kraft-type paper bag or in a standard refuse container that is no larger than 32 gallon size and clearly marked with the "YARD WASTE ONLY" STICKER. STICKERS are free and available at the Village Hall.   Tree branches, bush, and limbs should be cut into four-foot lengths and bundled with string or twine.   Each bundle must weight less than 50 pounds.   Unbundled brush will not be collected.   Christmas trees will be collected after the holidays.
