This program was designed to inform citizens of the community how the police and criminal justice system work and will be presented in a manner that is enjoyable for everyone who attends.

Mission Statement

The Mission of the Manhattan Police Department is to work in partnership with our community to protect life and property, assist our neighborhoods schools and businesses in resolving their problems while doing everything in our power to enhance the quality of life for our citizens.

Bike Patrol

The Village of Manhattan is proud to announce that the Manhattan Police Department has launched a New Bike Patrol Unit.  The Manhattan Police Department was able to launch this program by using Assets Forfeiture Funds.  The Assets Forfeiture Funds represents the proceeds of, or were used to facilitate crimes.  With these funds the Manhattan Police Department was able to purchase 2 specialty equipped bikes and to have 2 officers specialty trained. Officer Podkul and Officer Redlich will be out in the community this spring.    

Golf Carts

All Golf Carts are required to be inspected and registered with the Manhattan Police Department. The cost of golf cart inspections/registrations is $50.00 annually. Golf Carts can only be operated on Village of Manhattan Streets,(see attached map).  A properly registered and inspected golf cart is considered a motor vehicle and all applicable state laws and local ordinances apply to its use on the Village Streets
